IN MEMORY OF

Terri Shindler (Schaivo)

The Day Will Come

Gazing outside my window
Not too far away from view
I see a day on the new horizon
Where the Sun is shining through

A day where all will be treated as equal
No matter sickness, or disability
A day where life will mean forever
Not up to someones selfish plea

All life matters to my Jesus
As that is what He came to give
Not just for some, but for us all
As we all were made to live!

Even if a body cannot work right
And a minds alert to some degree
That person feels everything around them
Especially the love of family

Life is not subject to decisions
From the courts on high, as some may say
We were given this great blessing
When we were born, that special day

So on this blessed Easter Day
My prayers are many, and long
I pray for someone who's experiencing
A tribulation that is wrong

My heart is with this person
And her loving family
I beg the Lord above
To intervene, and hear my plea

If God should say this very day
It's time that she come home to me
Then I will trust that with my soul
As He knows best, and what should be

The day will come when life is different
The day will come when we are free
The day will come when misery is over
Gaze out your window, you too, will see!

I have a deep aching in my heart for Terri having to go through such a horrible ending to her life.  I believe God had a reason to keep her alive.  If it was her time to go before, she would have left this earth long ago. To take food away from anyone is the same as murder. We would all die without it.

She had feelings and you could see the love in her eyes as she looked at her mother. Anyone who can't see it has got to be blind. She did not ask to go like this.  Would you?  I think that is one of the most horrendous things that this country has ever done to a human being. An innocent young lady who was deeply loved by her family and all they wanted was to spend time with her, to love her and hold her, take care of her. Michael kept them from her for years. Read all the facts before you judge anyone .

I cant even imagine how the family could hold up through all of this as it was hard on me to witness. They did everything they could possibly do to save her from this terrible fate.  I truly admire them.
I am just thankful that I did not have to go through this when my daughter suffered a head injury in 2002.  She was comatose and depended on a feeding tube for awhile and she had to learn how to eat, sit, talk, walk, go to the bathroom and everything all over again.  Without rehabillitation she would never have come back like she did. Thank God this was never something we had to deal with.
I honestly think Terri could have come along way with her family's support and love. She had a strong will and this is the type of patient who succeeds with proper rehabilitation and patience.Terri would have never given up nor would her family.

I cannot feel anything but pity for Michael. He was no longer in love with her, he has another women and two children.  I do not understand how he was able to request this nor how the courts would only listen to him.  He admitted that her "wish, not to live in this manner" was hearsay.

Michael did not do this out of love, he is the most cruel person I know and to not let her  family know where she is now.  How could any loving husband do this to his wifes' family?  How could he do this to Terri?  I feel sorry for someone that values a life so little, especially a loved ones' life. This is no way to show his dedication or his love. This was obviously a control or power play on Michael's part, and one day he will have to answer for his actions.

She is in a much better place and we can not bring her back.  She will no longer suffer and will be    the whole and healthy young lady she was fifteen years ago. I'm sure she knows how much she was loved here on earth, and believe she is watching over her family and waiting for her loved ones to take that journey to reunite one day.

Gods Heavenly Angels  ~  April 19, 2005
On March 31, 2005 at approximately 9:05am, Terri Schindler-Schiavo lost her nearly 14 day struggle against starvation and dehydration and died at the Hospice Woodside in Pinellas Park, Florida.  Her family was not permitted to be with her as she passed.  Terri's family and the volunteers of the Terri Schindler-Schiavo Foundation have vowed to focus the Foundation, namd for her, on assisting other desperate families in their efforts to protect vulnerable loved ones.
My heart goes out to all those who stood by Terri and her family during this crisis and all the loved ones who had to suffer with her as she slowly passed away in a way no human being should ever have to go.  Please check you state as with the new living wills, all it does is give the state to make the final determination on how and when you will go. There is a writing on this on Terris site, you may want to check it out further.  Some states are just a yes or no answer with no if's, and's, or inbetween.
